Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev arrived with an official visit in Austria late on Sunday, October 21, Interfax-Kazakhstan reports citing the President’s press-service. According to the Foreign Ministry’s press-service, Nazarbayev is going to meet with Austrian Federal President Heinz Fischer (in narrow and extended formats), president of Austrian National Council Barbara Prammer. The visit will also include negotiations of government delegations and a major business forum. The parties are going to discuss the current state and prospects of Kazakhstan-Austrian cooperation in politics, trade and economic, energy, culture and humanitarian realm, as well as to exchange opinions on a wide range of issues of the international agenda. Kazakhstan-Austrian business forum is going to be held in Vienna on October 23. Business circles of both countries will discuss development of bilateral trade and investments between Kazakhstan and Austria. In particular, the forum will cover implementation of the earlier adopted documents on the priorities and objectives of economic cooperation until 2015 in industry, engineering, energy, infrastructure, tourism, healthcare, environmental protection and other sectors. The plan is also to open an official representative office of the Engineers Union in Austria and create a Business Council with participation of business communities of both countries.
