President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev has had a phone call from Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, Tengrinews reports citing the press office of Akorda.
Poroshenko thanked Nazarbayev for his personal involvement and contribution to the peaceful resolution of the conflict in the southeast of Ukraine. The Head of Ukraine asked his counterpart to continue working in the same direction.
President Poroshenko said that Ukraine would ceasefire on the agreed date. He also pointed out the importance of Russia following a similar course of actions. In turn, Nazarbayev stressed the importance of all parties involved in the conflict following measures adopted during the Minsk negotiations.
According to the press office of the Ukrainian president, Nazarbayev expressed satisfaction with the way agreements, reached during his visit to Kiev were implemented. He also confirmed the invitation of the Ukrainian President to Kazakhstan.
Nazarbayev visited Kiev in December, 2014 to meet with Poroshenko and Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk. In January, Lugansk Oblast received humanitarian aid from Kazakhstan. In addition, the meeting of the Normand Four was expected to take place in Astana in January, but later the meeting was postponed and the held in Minsk.
