Kazakhstan’s President Nursultan Nazarbayev has had a phone conversation with Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, Tengrinews reports citing the press office of Akorda.
Poroshenko congratulated Nazarbayev on the successful completion of negotiation on Kazakhstan’s accession into the World Trade Organization. He noted that it opened an array of opportunities for bilateral cooperation in trade based on the organization’s principles.
Nazarbayev, in his turn, thanked Poroshenko for his personal support in that matter.
During the phone conversation initiated by the Ukrainian side, the two leaders also discussed the bilateral economic cooperation, in particular in the field of aeronautics. Poroshenko is convinced that the Ukraine-EU free trade zone that will start its work in the beginning of next year will open new prospects for strengthening of the Kazakh-Ukrainian cooperation, in particularly in investments.
Poroshenko also informed Nazarbayev about the situation in Donbass.
In addition, the two sides agreed to start preparations for the upcoming visit of Petro Poroshenko to Kazakhstan this fall at the invitation of Nursultan Nazarbayev.
