Mukhtar Kul-Mukhammed has been selected to lead Nursultan Nazarbayev’s election campaign, Tengrinews reports citing the press office of Nur Otan party.
Nazarbayev’s campaign has already gathered a number of influential politicians, scientists, cultural and art figures of Kazakhstan.
“During the election campaign we plan to visit all the regions of the country to organize meetings with different groups of voters,” Kul-Mukhammed said.
On March 4, 2015 Mukhtar Kul-Mukhammed was relieved of his position of the incumbent president’s adviser. He was in the position since March 2014.
In 2000, Kul-Mukhammed was a member of the Kazakh Senate, after that he was appointed Minister of Culture, Information and Public Consent of Kazakhstan. He also used to hold the positions of the presidential press office head and deputy-chief of the Presidential Administration. In 2007, Kul-Mukhammed was appointed as the Akim (Governor) of Kyzylorda Oblast. After that he was selected as Nazarbayev’s special representative at Baikonur Cosmodrome. In May 2008, Kul-Mukhammed once again lead the Ministry of Culture and Information. He also used to work as the Secretary of the State.
