Kuwait apologized for Borat's 'anthem'

Kuwait gave an official apology to Kazakhstan in relation to the incident with Borat's 'anthem', Al Bawaba writes. The organizers of the international shooting tournament apologized for using of the 'anthem' from Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan movie at the ceremony of awarding of the winner from Kazakhstan Maria Dmitriyenko. "The commission gave official apologies to Kazakhstan's delegation at the tournament and the real anthem was played. The organizing commission of the International shooting tournament expresses regret over this deliberate mistake and once again assures of its big respect to the brothers and friends from Kazakhstan and close relations between the shooting federations of Kazakhstan and Kuwait." Earlier a representative of Kazakhstan Foreign Ministry Ilyas Omarov said that the incident was scandalous and Kazakhstan Foreign Ministry is requesting to investigate into it. The management of national teams and sports reserves of Kazakhstan Agency of Sports and Physical Culture filed an official protest to the organizers of the International shooting tournament in Kuwait.
