According to the Press Service, September 25 the Senate Speaker Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev had talks with the Speaker of the Consultative Assembly of Saudi Arabia, Abdullah ibn Muhammad Al ash-Sheikh, who came to Astana on an official visit.
“Welcoming the high quest, the Senate Speaker emphasized that Kazakhstan sees Saudi Arabia as an important political and economic partner in the Middle East and the entire Islamic World and was interested in developing dialogue in all realms. According to Mr. Tokayev, the forthcoming President Nazarbayev’s visit to Saudi Arabia will contribute to cooperation in all spheres”, the press release reads.
The sides spoke in favor of strengthening ties between the two parliaments and within inter-parliamentary organizations.
The Speaker of the Consultative Assembly of Saudi Arabia invited Mr. Tokayev to come to Saudi Arabia on an official visit. The Kazakhstan’s Senate Speaker expressed his gratitude to King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia for the constant support to the triennial Congress of World Religions and invited Abdullah ibn Muhammad Al ash-Sheikh to attend the forthcoming Congress to be held in Astana June 10-11, 2015.
