Kazakhstan’s President Nursultan Nazarbayev has met US President Obama in the Hague to discuss further strengthening of the bilateral trade and economic ties, Tengrinews.kz reports, citing President Nazarbayev’s Press Service. President Nazarbayev highlighted that around 300 JVs are currently operating in Kazakhstan, which testifies to a dynamic trade and economic cooperation. According to him, the USA is one of the major investors to the Kazakh economy. “Head of Kazakhstan emphasized that Kazakhstan is interested in active participation of US companies in the Industrial and Innovation Program. Besides, the two leaders dwelt on Kazakhstan’s accession into the WTO and on some acute issues on the international agenda”, the statement of the Press Service reads. In his turn, the US President lauded Kazakhstan’s contribution to the international nuclear disarmament efforts and cited the nation as an example to follow. He also expressed gratitude for assistance Kazakhstan has been rendering to stabilize the situation in Afghanistan.
