Kazakhstan’s President Nursultan Nazarbayev has completed his official visit to China. Closing the visit, Head of State stressed that the role of Asia and of China in particular is significantly growing in the global economy and this trend benefits Kazakhstan. “The recently announced plan of China’s development suggests the growth will be beneficial for Kazakhstan”, President Nazarbayev said. “Cooperation with China within the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation, Conference on Interaction and Confidence-building Measures in Asia, participation of China in the Congress of World Religions [held in Astana] have been of great importance, as well as strengthening of economic ties and transport links. Today we emphasized that in case cargo is transported from the sea port of Lianyungang to Europe, the shipment time will be 3.5 times shorter”, President said. President attended the 12th session of the Boao Economic Forum. On the sidelines of the forum, the Kazakhstan’s side met heads of delegations from Mexico, Singapore and Brunei. President Nazarbayev and Mexico's President Enrique Pena Nieto dwelt on the potential of bilateral cooperation in tourism, oil production and agriculture. At the talks with Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah of Brunei, President Nazarbayev said the potential of cooperation between the two nations is not unleashed yet. According to him, the sides are interested in expanding cooperation in O&G, chemicals production and agriculture. President invited Brunei to participate in prep works for EXPO-2017. Besides, President Nazarbayev met International Monetary Fund IMF chief Christine Lagarde and UN General Assembly (UNGA) President Vuk Jeremić. The latter expressed his intention to attend the VI Astana Economic Forum.
