Kazakhstan’s PM Serik Akhmetov to visit Paris

Kazakhstan’s Prime Minister Serik Akhmetov is to visit Paris on a working visit, Tengrinews.kz reports, citing Altai Abibullayev, spokesman for the Government’s Center for Mass Communications.“Upon invitation of Secretary General of the International Exhibitions Bureau (BIE) Vicente Gonzalez Loscertales, Mr. Akhmetov will be in Paris September 19-20. The sides will dwell on Kazakhstan’s EXPO host country registration dossier to be submitted to the BIE Secretariat before the end of the year”, Mr. Abibullayev said.Besides, the PM is expected to meet OECD secretary general Angel Gurría to discuss Kazakhstan’s accession into the OECD. “Entering the OECD facilitates the country’s goal of entering the club of 30 most developed nations in the globe. OECD membership will provide Kazakhstan with an access to advanced standards, raise the country’s competitive edge and will contribute to the country’s public administration system”, Mr. Abibullayev said.Mr. Akhmetov is also expected to meet his French counterpart Jean-Marc Ayrault.
