Kazakhstan’s foreign minister asked about Pashinyan’s “vibe”

Tengrinews.kz – Kazakhstan’s Foreign Minister Yerzhan Kosherbayev has commented on Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s viral social media video filmed in Astana, where he used a Kazakh song and ended the clip with a heart gesture.

Responding to a journalist’s question about Pashinyan’s “vibe” and whether such openness suits political leaders, Kosherbayev said this kind of expression is natural.

“Everyone has their own vibe, as you call it. It’s interesting, it’s pleasant — it shows a leader’s human side. People are used to thinking leaders must always be strict. Our President too, remember when he broke that board and did other things — that’s also a kind of vibe. The rest is what you create yourselves when you start editing reels,” he told reporters.

Journalists then asked whether Kazakh ministers and regional akims could behave just as freely online.

“Of course they can — try asking the ministers. For example, if I let myself go too far, people might take it the wrong way. But our akims, as you can see, allow themselves such things on their pages. And among friends, during personal meetings, there’s humanity, jokes, humor — we all have that,” the minister said.

Earlier, Pashinyan shared a video showing views of Astana set to the song Aua rai by Kazakh singer Bayansulu Sagyndykova. He ended the clip with a heart sign, captioning it: “Good morning, have a great day, and I love you all.”

The Armenian prime minister arrived in Astana on November 20 for an official visit.
