Kazakhstan Government is going to continue facilitating diversification of energy transportation routes, Tengrinews.kz reports citing Prime-Minister Serik Akhmetov as saying at the 7th Eurasian forum KAZENERGY called A World in Transition: Shaping Sustainable Energy Future. “We understand that the global demand for energy resources will keep growing even amid the current global economic uncertainty. That’s why we are going to further facilitate diversification of energy resources transportation routes and end markets,” Akhmetov said. “Our ability to attain the best use of Kazakhstan's industrial potential depends on our ability to attract new investments. The government constantly works on improvement of the investment climate and promotion of the mutually beneficial partnership with the private sector,” the PM said. According to him, Kazakhstan strives to diversify energy projects, attract investments not only in raw materials production, but also in their deep processing. Meanwhile, the priority will be still given to increasing local content and ensuring technologies transfer. “We also acknowledge the capacities of the renewable energy sources, that’s why the government will support several major promising projects in this area. First of all, this is development of solar energy and use of wind energy. Kazakhstan invests major funds in development of its human capital, infrastructure and technologies, understanding that climate change imposes a big threat to the world’s population. Our law on power saving and energy efficiency is called to decrease the industry’s energy content by 10 percent in 2015 and 25 percent by the end of this decade,” the Prime-Minister declared.
