Kazakhstan will work out recommendations for the United Nations. Deputy Prime-Minister Yerbol Orynbayev chaired the first meeting of the Coordination Council for national consultations on UN agenda in global development after 2015 held in Astana, Tengrinews.kz reports citing Prime-Minister’s press-service. According to the press-service Kazakhstan was selected by the UN to perform such consultations along with other 50 countries. Astana will have to work out recommendations for performance of the millennium development objectives adopted at the UN Millennium Summit in 2000. “The recommendations are viewed as ways to enhance interaction on Rio+20 issues and development of national priorities. Results of the national consultations will be summarized and included into the global report of the UN Development Group that will be reviewed during the UN General Assembly in September 2013,” the message said. During the meeting Orynbayev instructed all the involved state authorities to choose subjects of the consultations and submit draft recommendations compliant with Kazakhstan-2050 Strategy for their further submission to the UN. Kazakhstan President listed ten global challenges of 21st century in the strategy publicized on December 14.
