Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev will render an official visit to the Czech Republic, the website of Kazakhstan Foreign Ministry writes. The President’s visit is scheduled for October 23-24. Nazarbayev will meet with Czech President Vaclav Klaus and Prime-Minister Petr Necas. “They will discuss major landmarks of development of Kazakhstan-Czech relations, the current status and prospects of further cooperation, as well as opportunities for enhancement of mutually beneficial economic, scientific, cultural and humanitarian relations between the countries,” the website writes. A business forum with participation of business representatives of both countries is scheduled to be held in Prague on October 24. The forum will primarily cover investments and trade cooperation. Kazakhstan counts 76 companies with Czech capital and 20 representative offices of Czech companies. Besides, the Czech government included Kazakhstan in its list of 12 most perspective trade partners in 2009. The commodities turnover made $211.7 million in 2011 ($48.4 million for export and $163.3 million for import), which is 2 percent more than in 2010. Direct investments from the Czech Republic to Kazakhstan made $220 million between1994 and March 31, 2012. There is a direct flight between Almaty and Prague. The President will visit Austria prior to the visit to the Czech Republic. Earlier Nazarbayev rendered an official visit to Turkey.
