Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev had a meeting with Prince of Monaco Albert II, Tengrinews reports citing the President’s press-service. They exchanged the state decorations: Albert II awarded Nazarbayev with the Order of St.Karl and Kazakhstan President handed Prince of Monaco the 1st class Dostyk Order. The official ceremony was followed by the talks where they discussed political, trade and economic relations, investment cooperation and implementation of agreements on development of a whole range of partnerships, the main directions of which were set forth in the Joint Declaration of the heads of the countries. Kazakhstan is interested in attraction of the companies from Monaco to participate in its innovative projects, especially in the sectors where Monaco has a competitive advantages, including energy-efficient construction, renewable energy, tourism, service infrastructure, pharmaceutics and electronics. Kazakhstan, being a member of the Customs Union, represents a large and promising market for Monaco businesses. Kazakhstan President the Prince of Monaco discussed interaction in environmental protection, including the Green Bridge partnership program, and Monaco’s participation in preparation and holding of the EXPO-2017 exhibition in Astana. They considered opportunities for development of cultural and humanitarian interaction. One of the directions of its further enhancement includes cooperation between Astana Opera and Opera Monte Carlo. Citizens of Monaco will be introduced to the Kazakh culture and art during the Kazakhstan Culture Season in France next year, the message states. The heads of the countries also discussed development of interaction within the international organizations, in particular, the UN. They agreed that they had similar approaches to major international issues. In the end of the meeting they signed an agreement between the Government of Kazakhstan and the Government of the Principality of Monaco on cooperation in tourism.
