Kazakhstan Senate has approved the draft law On ratification of the сharter of International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), Tengrinews.kz reports. "Participation in this organization will allow us to received good support from it. First of all the support will come in the form of international grants for development and research of renewable energy, implementation of know-hows aimed at decreasing of negative influence on the environment, as well as in the form of assistance in methodology, statistics and different analysis. This organization helps every country chose the best option of the renewable energy structure and using its potential," the Minister of Industry and New Technologies said at the Senate's plenary meeting. He noted that 105 countries are currently members of the IRENA and 54 countries that have signed the charter, including Kazakhstan, are candidates for the full membership. According to the Senate's Commission on Natural Resources Management and Development of Rural Territories, adoption of the draft law provides for positive legal, ecological and socioeconomic developments, such as environmental protection by mean of limiting load on natural resources, prevention of deforestation, desertification, countering loss of biological variety, climate protection, economic growth and social solidarity, regional development and mutual responsibility.
