The Ambassador of Kazakhstan in Italy, Andrian Yelemesov and the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Commissioner of the upcoming EXPO-2017 in Astana Rapil Zhoshybayev along with the General Commissioner of the National Pavilion Anuarbik Mussin participated in the opening of the pavilion at the Expo 2015.
The Milan Expo 2015 opened with a minute of silence to honour the victims of the earthquake in Nepal.
The Kazakhstani pavilion opened with a performance of a music band. The guests were presented the history of the country via a sand show and offered national drink kumys made from mare's milk. The Kazakhstani delegation is not only presenting the wealth and beauty of our country, but is also gaining valuable experience for the upcoming EXPO-2017.
According to Anuarbek Mussin, the national pavilion is divided into 6 thematic rotundas. “We are expecting from 6 to 9 thousand people a day to visit our pavilion. It is the maximum capacity of our pavilion. The success of our participation and the way we present ourselves at the Milan Expo 2015 contributes to the success of the EXPO-2017 in Astana. We will do our best to promote our exposition. 148 countries participate in the Expo-2015. The exhibition in Milan is a great platform to present our country,” Mussin said.
The theme of the Milan Expo is “Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life”. The Expo focuses on promotion of on the right for healthy, secure and sufficient food to everyone around the world. The Milan Expo features a number of discussions and seminars on technology, innovation, culture and traditions in food and related fields.
The visitor’s of the Kazakhstan pavilion are presented a beautiful reconstruction of traditional scenery – vast wheat fields. Wheat is one of the most important natural resources in the country. Moreover, Kazakhstan is among the leading exporters of wheat and flour in the world. The exhibition features a hi-tech table that presents Kazakhstan’s leading researcher Alexander Barayev. He revolutionized agricultural technologies in the country increasing the land fertility. Visitors will also learn about production of kumys, the national drink made of fermented mare's milk. The pavilion has an installation made of real apples from Kazakhstan.
In addition, the pavilion will exhibit Kazakhstan’s environmental problems and methods of dealing with these problems. 3D installations called The Caspian Sea, The World of Energy, The Sun Rays, The Nature of Kazakhstan and an overview of several EXPO-2017 projects are displayed at the pavilion.
The Milan Expo 2015 expects over 20 million guests from all around the world. The exhibition is taking place from May 1st to October 30.
