Kazakhstan has offered Singapore to establish a visa free regime between the countries, Tengrinews reports citing the press office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
During the recent visit to South-East Asian countries, Kazakhstan's Minister of Foreign Affairs Yerlan Idrissov offered Singapore to consider mutually introducing a 30 day visa-free regime for all categories of visitors.
Idrissov also invited Singapore to take an active part in the EXPO-2017 in Astana. The Kazakh Minister handed the Prime Minister of Singapore Lee Hsien Loong an invitation from the Kazakhstani government to visit the country in the future.
The Foreign Minister added that Kazakhstan was implementing Singapore's experience in its socio-economic development. In particular, Kazakhstan introduced Samruk-Kazyna, a state holding managing the country’s assets, following the example of Singapore's Temasek.
Idrissov expressed hope that Singapore would support Kazakhstan’s bid for nonpermanent membership in the UN Security Council in 2017-2018.
At the meeting with the Minister of Law of Singapore Kasiviswanathan Shanmugam, Idrisov discussed cooperation in chemical industry and education, in particular, of technical professionals.
Idrissov gave a lecture on the importance of the Eurasian Economic Union at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy. The Kazakh Minister elaborated on the goals of the organization and the future prospects of cooperation within the EEU.
