Kazakhstan MP Serik Akhmetov will render a working visit to Uzbekistan, Tengrinews.kz reports citing the official representative of Kazakhstan President’s Central Communications Service Altai Abibullayev.
“On December 21-22 Kazakhstan Prime-Minister Serik Akhmetov will render a work visit to Uzbekistan. The plan is to discuss trade and economic, cultural and humanitarian relations, as well as cooperation in water-energy sector with Uzbekistan President Islam Karimov and the country's Prime-Minister,” he said on Wednesday.
Uzbekistan President Islam Karimov visited Kazakhstan under an invitation of Nursultan Nazarbayev in September. Important agreements were reached, joint presidents’ statements and several inter-government agreements were signed.
“The 12th meeting of the joint inter-government commission on bilateral cooperation was held in Bishkek on November 29 prior to Kazakhstan Prime-Minister Serik Akhmetov’s visit to Uzbekistan,” Abibullayev noted.
