Darkhan Mynbai was appointed Kazakhstan Minister of Culture of Information, Tengrinews.kz reports citing Prime-Minister Karim Massimov’s Twitter. On January 23 Prime-Minister introduced Mynbai to the Ministry of Culture and Information. “Darkhan Mynbai does not need a special introduction. He used to be deputy Ministry and worked in the President’s Administration in the same sector. That’s why I give you a green light to work in all directions under the management of the President, Mukhtar Kul-Mukhammed (who was appointed Secretary of State earlier) and the Government. I wish success to you all, I will hold a meeting soon and we will discuss all the issues in details. My congratulations and let’s start working!” Karim Massimov said. Mukhtar Kul-Mukhammed headed the Ministry of Culture and Information called Ministry of Culture after reorganization in 2010 since 2008. In November 2008 Darkhan Mynbai was appointed head of the department of local police of Kazakhstan President’s Administration. Before that he worked as Vice-Minister of Culture and Information. Earlier he used to be deputy Akim (Governor) of South-Kazakhstan oblast. Mynbai was born in 1962 in South-Kazakhstan oblast. In 1985 he graduated from Lomonosov Moscow State University at Journalism major.
