Kazakhstan has joined the International Anti-Corruption Academy (IACA) by signing the Agreement for the Establishment of the International Anti-Corruption Academy as an International Organization, Tengrinews reports referring to the Kazakhstan Agency for Fighting Economic and Corruption Crimes (the Financial Police). Participation in the project is expected to help Kazakhstan's law enforcement authorities expand their capacities. obtain new professional skills, improve their qualification and exchange experience. The IACA is based in Laxenburg (Vienna), Austria and is called to contribute to the global fight against corruption by addressing shortcomings in knowledge and practice in the field. Its principal mission is to deliver anti-corruption education and training for professionals and practitioners from all sectors of society. IACA has a constituency of 58 UN Member States and 3 international organizations. "The Academy currently includes 48 participants and 53 signers of the Agreement. The academy offers standardized and tailor-made trainings, academic degree programmes, opportunities for dialogue and networking, anti-corruption think-tank and benchmarking activities," the Anti-Corruption Agency's report says.
