Kazakhstan Interior Minister Kalmukhanbet Kassymov met with the members of the expert commission of the Internationa Exhibitions Bureau who arrived in Kazakhstan to review the possibility of holding EXPO-2017 in Astana, KazTAG reports citing press-service of the Interior Ministry. "During the meeting Kassymov told the guests about the situation in the country and in Astana, the objectives and the functions of police in ensuring order and security during major international events. The Minister assured the guests of preparedness of interior authorities to ensuring full security and protection of the public order during EXPO-2017 in Astana," the press-release states. Kazakhstan is a member of the International Exhibitions Bureau since 1997. Astana is a candidate for hosting an international exhibition EXPO-2017. Belgium is Kazakhstan's competitor. There are 6 years left before 2017, but Kazakhstan and Belgium are already getting ready to welcome 5 million tourists.
