Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted that the first-ever visit of a Cypriot president to Kazakhstan marks a significant milestone in the development of bilateral cooperation, and highly praised Nikos Christodoulides' personal contribution to strengthening bilateral relations.

"Allow me to express my sincere appreciation for your firm commitment to strengthening cooperation between our nations. In Kazakhstan, you are regarded as a kind friend and a distinguished statesman. Your active involvement contributes to strengthening mutual trust, developing political dialogue, and enhancing practical bilateral cooperation. I am convinced that through our joint efforts, we will give new impetus to our relations and unlock their potential. In recognition of your significant contribution to the development of cooperation between Kazakhstan and Cyprus, I have decided to award you the Order of Dostyk of the first degree. The very name of this award means 'friendship' and reflects the spirit of trust and partnership that forms the foundation of Kazakhstan's relations with your country," Kassym-Jomart Tokayev emphasized.

The President of Kazakhstan wished Nikos Christodoulides further success in his high-level public service, as well as new achievements for the benefit and prosperity of the friendly people of Cyprus.

The President of Cyprus thanked Tokayev for the high honor.

"It is a great honor for me to accept this award on behalf of the people of Cyprus, which personifies the friendship between our two countries. Today's visit reflects our shared determination and strong political will to further deepen cooperation in areas of mutual interest," said Nikos Christodoulides.

It is noted that on June 3, the Presidents of Kazakhstan and Cyprus held talks in Astana in both narrow and expanded formats with the participation of official delegations from both countries.

Following the negotiations, in the presence of the heads of state, members of the official delegations exchanged the following interagency documents:

1. Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Deputy Ministry of Research, Innovation and Digital Policy of the Republic of Cyprus on cooperation in ICT, e-government, space activities, and cybersecurity;

2. Memorandum of Understanding on cultural cooperation between the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Deputy Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Cyprus;

3. Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Ministry of Education, Sport and Youth of the Republic of Cyprus on cooperation in education and science;

4. Memorandum of Understanding in the field of sports between the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Ministry of Education, Sport and Youth of the Republic of Cyprus;

5. Cooperation Agreement between the Foreign Trade Chamber of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry to strengthen investment and business prospects between the two chambers.
