Kazakhstan called countries of the Organization for Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to aid Libya, Tengrinews.kz reports citing the statement of Kazakhstan Ministry of Foreign Affairs. “Kazakhstan is calling the OIC member-countries to show solidarity with the people of the fraternal country and act upon the resolution of the Council of Foreign Affairs Ministries of the OIC No.2/38-ICHAD on humanitarian aid to Libya, signed during the 38th session of the OIC Council of Foreign Affairs Ministries on June 30, 2011 in Astana,” the statement says. Being the chairman of the OIC Council of Foreign Affairs Ministries, Kazakhstan is ready to help mobilize the resources of the Organization to support the soonest possible stabilization of the situation and overcoming humanitarian crisis in Libya. Official Astana is still calling for quickest cease of fire, provision of people’s safety and restoration of stability in the country. “Kazakhstan stands for preservation of sovereignty and territorial integrity of Libya and strict compliance with the national and international laws and is respectful to the choice and political will of Libyan people in this dramatic period,” Kazakhstan Foreign Ministry said.
