Kazakhstan and U.S. sign energy partnership plan

Kazakhstan and the United States will sign a plan of energy partnership, Tengrinews.kz reports citing the official representative of Kazakhstan Foreign Ministry Altai Abibullayev as saying. The 9th meeting of the joint Kazakhstan-American Commission for Energy Partnership is being held in Washington on October 15-16. It is chaired by Kazakhstan Oil and Gas Minister Sauat Mynbayev and the United States Deputy Secretary of Energy Daniel Bruce Poneman. “In this meeting the parties will work to identify directions of further joint work in four areas: nuclear industry and non-proliferation, hydrocarbons, power energy, renewable energy sources and energy saving. The parties are going to sign a joint action plan of energy partnership in the said sectors between Kazakhstan and the United States in 2012-2013,” Abibullayev said. Sauat Mynbayev's agenda includes bilateral meeting with several high-ranking representatives of the U.S. President’s administration. By Renat Tashkinbayev
