Kazakhstan and Hungary to step up cooperation

Kazakhstan and Hungary have agreed to strengthen cooperation in legal sphere, Tengrinews reports citing the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office of Kazakhstan.

Kazakhstan's Prosecutor General Askhat Daulbayev had a meeting with the Minister of Justice of Hungary Laszlo Trochani and Attorney General of Hungary Peter Polt on April 1. The two accompanied the Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban on his official visit to Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan.

The two sides exchanged their views on the current ssues on the international agenda and stressed simularities in the views of Kazakhstan and Hungary on international and regional security in the modern world.

The meeting's agenda focused on cooperation in legal sphere, particularly in the fight against crime, terrorism, extremism, cyber crime and drug trafficking.

Following the meeting, a memorandum of cooperation between the Prosecutor General's Offices of the two countries was signed.

The two sides expressed interest in deepening bilateral relations in all areas of legal cooperation.

According to the Prosecutor General of Kazakhstan Askhat Daulbayev, the signing of this agreement was a landmark event that would contribute to the Kazakh-Hungarian legal cooperation and enhance their joint efforts in the fight against crime. It will also enable the two nations to develop adequate approaches to prevention of threats and dealing with challenges of the present day world.
