Kazakhstan and Germany considering simplified visa procedures

Kazakhstan and Germany are considering simplification of visa procedures, Tengrinews.kz reports from the third meeting of Kazakhstan-German Business Council on strategic cooperation in Astana. “We are reviewing very practical issues, e.g. simplification of visa procedures. We are even discussing cancellation of visas in future. German representatives are always very accommodating and they assure us that this issue may be considered upon achievement of a certain business cooperation level,” Director of Investment Project Department of Samruk-Kazyna National Welfare Fund Sabyr Yessimbekov said. It is quite early to talk about a complete cancellation of visas yet and this is not the objective of the council. Its goal is to constantly enhance economic cooperation between Kazakhstan and Germany. German investments to Kazakhstan are growing. Its direct investments made $3.6 billion in 2010 and $2.9 billion in 2009.
