Kazakhstan got into the list of countries with low human trafficking threat, Tengrinews.kz reports citing Kazakhstan Foreign Minister Yerzhan Kazykhanov. “Unfortunately, this problem (human trafficking) is true for any countries, i.e. either the country is the traffic sources or transit for human trafficking or a destination point of such traffic. I would call Kazakhstan a transit territory for human trafficking. Unfortunately, this is related to certain economic conditions in some countries and presence of certain criminal groups. We are ready to counter it,” Kazykhanov said, answering Majilis deputies’ questions. “I am glad to note that the U.S. administration included Kazakhstan into the rating of low threats in terms of human trafficking and this is a big achievement, I think, of both the Government and the Parliament of Kazakhstan. We have to be united in countering this problem. There is nothing more precious than human life, so let’s protect people,” Foreign Minister said.
