November 24 Kairat Mami was reelected Senate Speaker. Senators unanimously supported his candidacy. Prior to that President Nazarbayev had reappointed Mami a Senator as his tenure had expired. “Head of State has set the major goals and tasks before the Parliament (…) I assure you we will take all the required efforts to accomplish them”, Mami pledged, thanking the deputies for the support. Since 2000 Kairat Mami served as the Chairman of the Supreme Court. In spring 2011 he took the post of the Senate Speaker.
