Chairman of Kazakhstan Senate Kairat Mami arrived in Riyadh for participation in the consultative meeting of the speakers of G20 member-states under invitation of the chairman of the Consultative Assembly of Saudi Arabia Abdullah ibn Muhammad Al ash-Sheikh, Tengrinews.kz reports citing the Senate's press-service. This is the first time Kazakhstan delegation is invited to take part in the G20 event. The meeting's agenda includes such subjects as Global dialog of cultures and Energy for sustainable development. Mami met with Al ash-Sheikh prior to the meeting. Chairman of Kazakhstan's Senate noted a significant impact of Al ash-Sheikh in enhancement of the relations between Kazakhstan and Saudi Arabia. In the meeting the head of Kazakhstan delegation handed his counterpart the invitation for participation in the 4th Congress of World Religions. It will be held in Astana on May 30-31, 2012. Al ash-Sheikh, who took part in the previous three meetings, accepted the invitation gratefully. According Al ash-Sheikh, the forum called at the initiative of Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev is important and necessary for nurturing the global dialog among religions and cultures. "Kazakhstan supports international activities of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, His Majesty King Abdullah bin Abdul-Aziz on ensuring inter-civilization accord, which is equal to the objectives of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions," Mami said. The Senate's speaker noted a broad potential for cooperation between the Consultative Assembly and Kazakhstan's Parliament. "I'm confident that we have all the capacities for development of a successful inter-parliamentary dialog between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Kazakhstan," he added.
