Tengrinews.kz – Iran has presented Kazakhstan with copies of valuable ancient manuscripts, a gesture announced during expanded-format talks between President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian.

The two leaders devoted a significant part of the discussion to strengthening cultural and humanitarian cooperation.

Tokayev noted that Iran’s archives contain numerous historical materials linked to Kazakhstan.

“Our scholars have already begun joint research on the legacy of al-Farabi. Plans are being developed to build a historical and cultural complex dedicated to the great philosopher on Kazakh soil. Today, the Iranian delegation handed us copies of ancient manuscripts connected to Kazakhstan’s history, for which I express my sincere gratitude. This gesture highlights the depth of historical ties between our nations,” the President said.

The sides also agreed to expand cultural exchanges in the coming years, including holding Culture Days, boosting student mobility between universities, and enhancing cooperation in healthcare and pharmaceutical production.

Earlier, Akorda hosted the official welcoming ceremony for President Pezeshkian, who arrived in Kazakhstan on an official visit. The two leaders later held talks in a narrow format.
