Great Britain and Kazakhstan to expand economic ties
FDI from Great Britain to Kazakhstan from 2005 to the Q1 2014 totaled $10.5 billion, Tengrinews.kz reports, citing the country’s Ministry for Investments and Development.
Astana, Kazakhstan’s capital city, hosted the 1st sitting of the Kazakh-British intergovernmental committee for trade and economic, science and technical, and culture cooperation. It was announced at the sitting that the trade turnover between the two sides in the H1 2014 exceeded $643 million.
To further economic relations, the two sides agreed to expand cooperation between KAZNEX INVEST (Agency for Promotion of Foreign Investments) and UK Trade & Investment (UKTI). KAZNEX INVEST has submitted a list of 40 promising investment projects in machinery building, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, agriculture.
