Chairman of Party of Patriots, a Kazakhstani political party, Gani Kasymov has suggested nominating Nursultan Nazarbayev for the early presidential elections from the national coalition of democratic forces Kazakhstan-2050Tengrinews reports.

The national coalition of democratic forces Kazakhstan-2050 includes 6 political parties, 18 largest public associations, 321 branches of political parties, 500 large NGOs of Kazakhstan. According to the coalition, they represent over 6.5 million citizens of Kazakhstan.

On January 17 the national coalition unanimously supported the initiative to hold the presidential election in Kazakhstan in 2015 instead the scheduled 2016.

Gani Kasymov said that his party supports Nursultan Nazarbayev.

He noted that the address prepared by the coalition would not say that. According to him, it only indicates that members of the coalition support the course taken by the President. But he added: “If you have said A, you must also say B.”

In an interview Kasymov explained his proposal to the reporters. "The idea is to support the candidacy (of Nazarbayev) through the coalition. Each party nominates a candidate at its congress. Therefore, any union of public associations has the right to support and advance its consolidated opinion," he said.

Kasymov added that he had no intention of run himself. "To be honest, I'm not going to run for one simple reason, because I have been in this river twice, I know the taste of bitter bread to be a presidential candidate, and being under your (the media’s) watchful eye every day. It is a real ordeal," Kasymov said.

Gani Kasymov ran for President two times. The first one was in 1999, when he gained 4.6% of the votes, finishing third out of four candidates. In 2011, he again ran for President again, this time getting 1.94% of votes but finishing on the second place.

"I will not run because I believe that we need new faces, new people and a new generation of candidates," he concluded.

In turn, the first deputy chairman of the party Nur Otan Bauyrzhan Baibek, commenting on the proposal of Gani Kasymov, said that the initiative of the Board of the National Assembly to hold early election this year was only being considered.

"The Party of Patriots of Kazakhstan clearly expressed its political position, but the rest of our colleagues say that we need to wait with this," Baibek expressed the opinion of other members of the coalition.
