The Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) discussed prevention of threats from Afghanistan and North Africa, Tengrinews.kz reports citing the official representative of Kazakhstan Ministry of Foreign Affairs Askar Abdrakhmanov. The sitting of Foreign Ministers of the CSTO member-states was held in Minsk today, May 31. Kazakhstan delegation was led by Foreign Minister Yerzhan Kazykhanov. “Participants of the meeting discussed the situation in several regions, including Middle East, North Africa and Afghanistan, and the possible steps that could by taken by the Collective Security Treaty Organization member-states to prevent threats coming from such countries,” Abdrakhmanov said. The meeting marticipants discussed the CSTO's cooperation with other international and regional organizations. A report was made on the progress of implementation of decisions made by heads of the member-countries at the December 2010 session.
