Composition of commission for modernization in Kazakhstan announced

President Nursultan Nazarbayev had a meeting to establish the National Commission for Modernization, at which its composition was determined, Tengrinews reports citing the press service of Akorda.

On the election day, Nazarbayev said that in the event of his victory, he would first of all create a commission to implement the five nstitutional reforms he proposed in the course of his election campaign.

"If Kazakhstan will trust me again, then, of course, my first step will be to create a commission for implementation of the five institutional reforms that I put forward," he said on April 26.

Holding on to his promise the president announced signing of the decree establishing the National Commission for Modernization on April 30.

"Prime Minister Karim Massimov will lead the commission. Head of the presidential administration Nurlan Nigmatulin will be his deputy. The working group to build a professional state apparatus will be led by Assistant to the President Yerbol Orynbayev. Deputy head of the Presidential Administration Talgat Donakov will lead the work group for ensuring the rule of law. The work group for economy will be lead by Minister of National Economy Yerbolat Dossayev, the work group for national identity and unity will be lead by Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration Baghlan Mailybayev, The work group for government accountability will be headed by Deputy Chairman of the Mazhilis of the Parliament Dariga Nazarbayeva," the press service of Akorda said.

President of Nazarbayev University Shigeo Katsu entered the Commission as a foreign consultant.
