Baurzhan Mukhamedzhanov was appointed Kazakhstan Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Lithuania, Tengrinews.kz reports citing Kazakhstan President’s official website. Prior to this appointment Mukhamedzhanov used to work as Akim (Governor) of Mangistau oblast from December 2011 to January 2013. In different years Mukhamedzhanov used to be deputy of Kazakhstan Senate, Interior Minister, deputy head of the Presidential Administration, Vice-PM and Justice Minister. Commenting Baurzhan Mukhamedzhanov’s release from the duties of Mangistau oblast Akim, Kazakhstan Prime-Minister Serik Akhmetov noted that “the President’s instructions on social-economic development, economy diversification, implementation of the single-industry cities development program and creation of new jobs were performed” in the oblast under Mukhamedzhanov’s leadership.
