"Bakytzhan Abdiraiym is herewith appointed Deputy Minister of Justice of Kazakhstan," the presidential decree reads.
Bakytzhan Abdiraiym was born in Zhambyl Oblast in southern Kazakhstan in 1965. He graduated from the Law School of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and later completed his doctoral studies at the Institute of State and Law of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
Before being appointed Vice-Minister of Justice he used to be Deputy Minister of Defence of Kazakhstan from October 2013.
During his career, he served as the Head of the President Representatives in the Kazakhstan Parliament from 2000 to 2006, Chief of the Senate Staff in 2006, Rector of Gumilyov Eurasian National University from 2008 to 2011, and President of the Independent Research Centre for Military and Strategic Studies from 2012 to 2013.
