Kazakhstan Prosecutor General Askhat Daulbayev met with Secretary General of Austrian Foreign Ministry Johannes Kirle, Tengrinews.kz reports citing the press-service of Kazakhstan General Prosecutor’s office. The parties discussed prospects of further activation of cooperation in the legal sector. They noted at the meeting that the visit of Kazakhstan delegation was an important step to boost development of the relations and exchange experience in legal development. The parties gave special attention to Kazakhstan joining four conventions of the Council of Europe in criminal procedures. Daulbayev noted that Kazakhstan’s legislation was developing and improving dynamically to comply with all the international standards in protection of the citizens’ rights and freedoms. In this relation Kazakhstan’s joining the European conventions facilitates achievement of this goal. Kirle thanked the guest for the visit and reminded that Austria would chair the Council of Europe in November 2013 and planed to promote Kazakhstan’s joining the conventions. He also suggested to consider enhancing cooperation by signing an agreement on mutual legal support in criminal cases. Kirle expressed hope for further enhancement of the bilateral interaction based on the mutual trust principles.
