Askar Shakirov was re-appointed Ombudsman in Kazakhstan, Tengrinews.kz reports citing Kazakhstan President’s website. “Nursultan Nazarbayev has appointed Askar Shakirov Ombudsman in Kazakhstan,” the message states. Shakirov has held this post since September 2007. Shakirov was born in Karaganda in 1956. He graduated from the Institute of Asian and African Countries of Lomonosov Moscow State University and graduate from a military course in the USSR Interior Ministry’s Academy. He holds Cand.Sc. Law degree. He owns a title of Minister Plenipotentiary of First Grade. Starting from August 2004 he worked as deputy Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan. In 2006 he headed the Customs Control Commission of Kazakhstan Finance Ministry.
