The prep works for Armenia and Kyrgyzstan to join the Eurasian Economic Union [of Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus] is in line with the schedule, Russia’s RIA Novosti reports, citing the Kazakhstan’s Foreign Minister Yerlan Idrissov as saying.

Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan signed an agreement to launch the Eurasian Economic Union May 29, 2014 in Astana, Kazakhstan’s capital city. The Union comes into force January 1, 2015.

“Everything is in line with the schedule set by the presidents”, Mr. Idrissov said following his talks with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov in Ust-Kamenogorsk, Kazakhstan.

“Armenia is at the edge of entering the Organization. It is going to be ahead of Kyrgyzstan to join the Union. Some technical issues are to be settled”, he elaborated.

The two nations’ Foreign Ministers met in Ust-Kamenogorsk, East Kazakhstan. The two ministers met in a major industrial area of Kazakhstan to discuss trade and economic issues and further integration processes within Eurasia.
