Nursultan Nazarbayev met with the representatives of diplomatic missions accredited in Kazakhstan, Tengrinews.kz reports. The President congratulated the ambassadors on the 20th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations and delivered a speech.
“This year is special because 15 years ago foreign embassies started to gradually move to the new capital of Kazakhstan, called Akmola back then. The work of the embassies, representative officers of international organizations is very important for our young capital. Activities of the diplomatic bodies and the diplomats’ families bring diplomatic elegance and culture into our capital. We, in our turn, strive to create all the necessary conditions for your good work, life and leisure and are very attentive to your requests. Those of you who arrived in Astana not long ago, could have seen how severe our climate can be, but as we meet today, the sun is shining in the first days of spring. Unlike the unpredictable weather, Kazakhstan’s relations with all the countries have always been positive and good-natured, and we treasure that,” Nazarbayev said.
This year is the 20th anniversary of Kazakhstan’s entering the UN. The 20th anniversary of establishment of professional Kazakhstan diplomatic service will be celebrated in June.
