Kazakhstan Prime-Minister has instructed Kazakhstan Environmental Protection Ministry to work out an action plan for transition to the green economy, Tengrinews.kz reports.
“The President has approved the new concept of transition to the green economy. Successful implementation of this concept requires an action plan. That’s why I instruct the Environmental Protection Ministry to develop such plan and submit it to the government within 2 weeks. It has to be very concrete and clear,” Akhmetov said at the government meeting.
He added that the concept focused on optimization of use of natural resources, ensuring efficient environmental management , broad implementation of clean technologies, development of renewable energy sources and developing of traditions of environmental friendliness in Kazakhstan.
“These are important issues set forth in the concept approved by the President,” Akhmetov said.
