Tengrinews.kz – President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held a lengthy phone conversation with US President Donald Trump, citing Akorda.
The Presidents of Kazakhstan and the United States conducted a detailed exchange of views on the bilateral agenda and the current international situation, including developments around Ukraine.
Tokayev reaffirmed Kazakhstan’s commitment to the full implementation of the agreements reached during his visit to Washington in November this year.
The Head of State emphasized the complexity of resolving the conflict in Ukraine, noting that territorial issues play a dominant role and require compromises from both sides, taking into account the real situation “on the ground”.
In this regard, Kazakhstan calls on all parties involved to demonstrate patience, flexibility and professionalism, and to continue searching for a viable peace formula. At the same time, Tokayev stressed that Kazakhstan is not acting as a mediator, but is ready to provide a negotiating platform in a spirit of goodwill if necessary.
Tokayev also highlighted the outstanding leadership qualities of the US President, which, he said, made it possible to bring several international military conflicts to an end and achieve positive results in strengthening the United States’ domestic potential.
In conclusion, the President of Kazakhstan invited Donald Trump to visit Kazakhstan at a time convenient for him and expressed confidence that such a visit would be historic.
Earlier, Tokayev voiced support for President Trump’s plan on Ukraine during a media briefing attended by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
