Newly appointed Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Yerzhan Ashikbayev will be supervising Kazakhstan's relationships with American countries and cooperation within the frameworks of the United Nations, Tengrinews reports citing the press-service of Kazakhstan's Foreign Affairs Ministry. Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan and President's Advisor Yerzhan Kazykhanov presented the newly appointed Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Yerzhan Ashibayev to the Ministry's staff. After reading out the presidential decree on the new appointment, Yerzhan Kazykhanov pointed out that Yerzhan Ashikbayev was a career diplomat, who had ample experience working inside the country and abroad. According to the Foreign Minister, Yerzhan is well known in the administration and they had a productive cooperation while he was working at the Presidential Administration. The new Vice-Minister will supervise Kazakhstan's relations with the countries of the Americas and its cooperation in UN projects. Besides, Yerlan Idrissov stressed that the task to promote Kazakhstan's bid for the status of Non-Permanent Member of the UN Security Council in 2017-2018 was a priority and wished his colleague success in his work. The new Vice-Minister thanked the President of Kazakhstan for the credence and promised to work hard to live up it. Yerzhan Ashikbayev was appointed the new Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan by the decree of Kazakhstan's President Nursultan Nazarbayev as of December 13, 2013. According to the Foreign Ministry, Yerzhan Ashimbayev has been working in the Foreign Affairs Ministry since 1998. He worked in the Kazakhstan Embassy in Belgium, headed the office of the Foreign Affairs Minister in the Ministry's headquarters and a chaired the International Information Committee. Before getting the new appointment Yerzhan Ashikbayev was heading the Foreign Policy Center in the Presidential Administration.
