The Kazakh leader expressed his gratitude to President Putin for accepting the invitation to visit Kazakhstan.

“This is, without exaggeration, a very significant event in our bilateral relations, which are based on a solid foundation of strategic partnership and alliance. I read your article in Kazakhstani media with great interest, and I also published mine in Russian media. I believe we have outlined, in unison, our approaches to developing cooperation focused on the future. In my article, I emphasized that Kazakhstan has been and remains a reliable strategic partner and ally of Russia during these challenging times,” Tokayev noted.

The President highlighted the growing momentum of cooperation between the two nations, stating that Kazakhstan and Russia have not only maintained but significantly enhanced their positive partnership dynamics.

“The agenda of your visit is quite extensive. Ahead of this visit, members of our governments worked on addressing all key issues. Today, we will adopt very important documents - 20 agreements - that will undoubtedly provide a powerful impetus to further develop our good-neighborly relations and cooperation,” said Tokayev.

During the talks, President Putin thanked Tokayev for the warm welcome in Kazakhstan, praised the dynamic development of bilateral ties, and briefly outlined the agenda of his visit.

Earlier, it was reported that the two leaders would participate in the 20th Forum of Interregional Cooperation between Kazakhstan and Russia via video conference.

Additionally, on November 28, Astana will host the next CSTO Security Council session, chaired by Tokayev. Delegations from member states will discuss pressing regional and international security issues, with several key documents expected to be signed.
