Tengrinews.kz – During a meeting with Valentina Matvienko, Chair of the Federation Council of Russia, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev shared his impressions of the recent talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin, citing Akorda’s press service.
While in Moscow on November 12, Tokayev called his state visit a milestone event in the history of Kazakh-Russian relations.
“Indeed, this visit holds special significance as it elevates our strategic partnership and allied relations to a new level,” Tokayev said.
He also revealed details of his private discussion with Putin, which lasted about two hours.
“Yesterday, I had a private conversation with Vladimir Vladimirovich for nearly two hours. We discussed many issues of bilateral cooperation and the international situation,” the Kazakh leader noted.
Earlier, Tokayev and Putin held informal talks over what Putin described as “a cup of tea or coffee.”

Though the details of their private discussion remain undisclosed, the warm farewell hug suggested that the 2.5-hour meeting was both open and amicable.
Tokayev’s second day in Moscow began with a wreath-laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Alexander Garden.
