Tengrinews.kz — President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has sent a letter to U.S. President Donald Trump, expressing gratitude for the invitation to participate in the upcoming Central Asia–U.S. Summit (C5+1) scheduled to take place in Washington on November 6, Akorda reports.

Tokayev described the initiative of the American leader as timely, emphasizing his support for the core principles of President Trump’s domestic and foreign policy — particularly the defense of traditional values based on common sense and the promotion of peace and security worldwide.

“I fully share your commitment to upholding traditional values and ensuring peace and stability,” Tokayev wrote.

The C5+1 format (five Central Asian countries + the U.S.) was established in 2015 under President Obama as a dialogue platform uniting Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and the United States. It focuses on economic cooperation, security, environmental sustainability, and regional development, without direct geopolitical alignment.

On September 22, Tokayev and Trump held a meeting in New York, where they discussed bilateral economic cooperation, investment, and strategic projects in transportation, energy, and digitalization.

Earlier this month, the White House also mentioned Kazakhstan’s support for Trump’s peace plan regarding the Israel–Hamas conflict, highlighting Astana’s role as a responsible and balanced international partner.
