Tengrinews.kz - President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Dushanbe, the press service of the Akorda reported.
During the meeting, Tokayev reminded Putin of his upcoming official visit to Russia on November 12, emphasizing the significance of the event for boosting strategic partnership and alliance between the two countries.
“Kazakhstan and Russia are destined for enduring alliance, strategic partnership, and ultimately friendship. Last year, bilateral trade reached $28 billion. Russian businesses have invested over $26 billion in Kazakhstan’s economy over the years, including $4 billion last year alone. More than 114 major projects totaling nearly $22 billion have already been implemented, and this work will continue,” Tokayev said.
Putin highlighted the special nature of the relations, noting that both countries initiated integration processes in the post-Soviet space and remain key members of the Eurasian Economic Union.
“We value our relationship with Kazakhstan highly, not only because of our personal friendship, but also because Kazakhstan and Russia have been initiators of integration in the post-Soviet space. Many bilateral issues constantly require attention, and I appreciate your commitment to developing Russian-Kazakh relations. I am confident that our meeting will further strengthen these ties,” the Russian leader said.
Tokayev previously participated in the “Central Asia – Russia” summit in Dushanbe, highlighting the growing recognition of Central Asia’s potential and its role as a dynamically developing region on the global stage.
