Nurlan Nigmatulin has been appointed chief of the presidential administration of Kazakhstan, Tengrinews reports citing Akorda.

The decree appointing Nigmatulin as the Head of the Presidential Administration was signed by President Nazarbayev and posted on the Akorda website.

On April 29, Nazarbayev was inaugurated as the President of Kazakhstan for the 5th time. The President signed a Decree "On the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan” when the Government of Kazakhstan resigned after the reelection of the president as prescribed by the Constitution. In accordance with the Constitution, Akims (Mayors) of Almaty, Astana and Oblasts and heads of governmental institutions had to leave their posts.

Then President Nazarbayevproposed Karim Massimov as the new Prime Minister. The lawmakers of the Majilis Parliament approved Massimov's reelection. Later it was announced that all the Ministers and Akims retained their posts to ensure continuity of all the policies and activities.
