Nazarbayev wins over 97% of votes: exit poll27 april 2015, 02:12
Nazarbayev has gained over 97% of votes in the presidential elections in Kazakhstan, Tengrinews reports.
Nursultan Nazarbayev, the incumbent president of Kazakhstan who was running in the presidential elections against two other candidates, has won 97.5 percent of the votes on April 26.
Projects Director of the Institute of Democracy Association Yuliya Kuchinskaya said that the association conducted exit polls throughout Kazakhstan.
"The exit polls were held staring from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m. at 550 polling stations - 312 in cities and 238 in rural areas. The results by candidate spread out as follows: 97.5 percent voted for Nursultan Nazarbayev, 0.63 percent voted for Abelgazi Kusainov and 1.87 percent voted for Turgun Syzdykov,” she said.
The voting officially ended in Kazakhstan at 9 p.m. on April 26. Vote counting started immediately after and is due to finish within 12 hours. Voter turnout at the presidential elections in Kazakhstan made 95.11.
