Kazakhstan‘s President Nursultan Nazarbayev has meet with presidents, prime-ministers or a number of companies during his visit to the United States on September 26-29, Tengrinews reposts citing the press office of the Kazakh leader.
Nazarbayev attend the 70th anniversary session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York at the invitation of the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon.
He addressed the UN General Assembly on the first day of the General Policy Debates that started on September 28 and last for two weeks, along with leaders of the US, Brazil, Poland, China, Jordan, Russia, South Korea, Iran, France, Qatar, the Netherlands, Mexico, Portugal, Mozambique and Denmark.
According to Kazakhstan’s political scientist Yerlan Karin, this line up was not a coincidence, but on the contrary, it “shows the extent of involvement of our country in the discussion of the global agenda”.
However, the member states gathered in the UN headquarters not only to mark the 70th anniversary of the world organization, but also to adopt a post-2015 Development Agenda at the UN Sustainable Development Summit and discuss the climate change as part of preparations to the UN Climate Change Conference that is to take place in Paris on November 30.
Furthermore, the leaders took part in the Countering Violent Extremism Summit.
